meet sparkle

He's orange, little, has gills and eats flakes.  Sparkle came into our lives on February 3rd, on a Sunday afternoon by the hands of Miss Kendall.  We were at the St. Mary's Carnival and Kendall had one measly ticket left in her hands.  She wanted to play for a fish.  Mom was hesitant, as she REALLY didn't want to take care of a fish, only to have it die after a few days.  Well, Kendall had three balls and the goal is to throw it into one of about 50 vases.  The first two were no goes (and Mom was sighing relief), but the third ball went right into a vase.  At first I was bummed.  The last thing I wanted was another living being to take care of.  We already have two children and two dogs, sigh!  Well, Kendall was so excited it was hard to not share in her joy.

We picked up her fish downstairs along with the fist starter kit for $8.  This made the experience much better.  You got a bowl, rocks, food, and chlorine drops.  Perfecto!

Kendall named him Sparkle and I am happy to say that he is already over a month old!  Rick is a rock star and changes his water every week, I am sure this helps :)

Getting her face painted
