cupboards will be covering a lot of the wall
It has been one heck of a couple weeks. Here is a fairly quick breakdown of the Hochhalter family happenings lately
*We painted the ENTIRE living space in ONE day. That's almost 1200 square feet people! Only the first floor is going to be finished when we move in, the basement is just concrete and some studs. We painted the entryway, stairway, living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. Did I mention we did this in one day? We had to do two coats in a few rooms but it looks awesome. My mom and Tammy were rock stars and came down to help. I brought Kendall to a babysitter and Rick was off work at one so we had four of us from about 2pm on. The great thing was that there is no trim, doors, cupboards, or flooring. So the only thing we had to be careful of was the ceiling and we used this nifty little tool so we didn't even have to tape that. I am relieved it is all done and can honestly say the only things that are white in that entire house are the closets and ceiling. Whew!
*I have still been busy with faith formation and kindergartners/first graders are draining. Both emotionally and physically. We have a few "high maintenance" children and they give Darcy and I a run for our money...and so do their parents.
*We are scheduled to close in our current house on November 4th but our new house probably won't be done until that next week or so (not sure yet though). Tear... soo, anyone want to let us live with them for a week? Tee hee!
*As if I am not busy enough, I decided to take on a second job at Kohl's on their ad set team. It is from 8pm-12am 2 or 3 nights a week. I wanted a second job for some extra cash flow but didn't want it to interfere too much with my family time. Since Kendall is in bed by 8:30, this works out pretty well. And did I mention I get a discount? It will be a true test of my self control to limit what I buy. However, everyone should now know that their Christmas present is coming from there this year!
*I think that's all. We are currently taking volunteers the first week of November to help us move OR watch our darling daughter. Since Rick and I both work that week, we will have to move some stuff every night that week to be out on Thursday morning. Fun times in the Hochhalter house!
Oh MY! You have been busy!! And a second job? GIRL! My parents would totally take you in if you're still in need!! : )
