Every time Kendall sees Santa she says, "Santa Claus, ho ho ho!" It's pretty cute. So we ventured over to the mall to see the man in red. I was anticipating Kendall to be very scared of him, since she is at that "golden age" where all most kiddos are scared of the big guy. While in line Kendall was pretty excited, saying "I want to see Santa!" However, once we put her on his lap she wanted nothing to do with him. She didn't cry, but just wanted off. So Rick and I sat with her and we did get a pretty cute family pic. The funniest thing was that when we were leaving, Kendall gave Santa a big kiss! Ha, I guess the coloring book he gave her went straight to her heart.
Now a random story about my little stinker. She has been sleeping in her "big girl bed" for over a month now. The transition was about as seamless as I could imagine. Seriously I was expecting late night battles, endless crying, pretty much the worst. I am not usually a pessimist, but I had heard so many horror stories from other moms. Also, to other people's judgements, we transitioned her on the same exact night we moved into the new house. Honestly, we just figured we would kill two birds with one stone.
Anyway, other then falling out of bed a couple times, yes we have a rail on one side but she is a CRAZY sleeper, she has done amazing. She is pretty funny after naps sometimes and knocks on the door to let us know she is awake. Well...yesterday she was knocking and low and behold she locked the door on us! Luckily it was easy for Rick to stick a little stick in the hole and pop it open. I didn't even know she knew how to lock a door. Grreeatt...
We are heading to Rick's uncle Buzz's for Christmas on his Dad's side of the family today. It should be a good time, we are pretty pumped!
We Santa'd today too! We got the big 'ole tears. Afterwards, M said, "M crying. Now M happy." Love that Kendall gave Santa a kiss!! That line about the book going straight to her heart totally cracked me up! : )
ReplyDeleteWe're still working on the big girl bed. She has been pretty good... but cries for her crib. She seems to like the confinement. Hers has built in rails - maybe we should add extra ones and it can be JUST like a crib!! ; )
