Tomorrow Jaxon will be the big two months old, crazy to think about. I should mention here that I decided to extend my maternity leave. 10 weeks just wasn't enough and 11 weeks sounded so much better :) I need to make a decision this week if I just want to take the full 12 weeks. I am obviously enjoying my maternity leave way too much. I just love having the summer off and spending tons of time with my kiddos.
Fun two month old facts for you:
*Jaxon is 15lbs 10oz (100%) and 24 inches long (90%). He is a BIG boy. I looked back and Kendall's growth and it took her until she was 6 months old to be that big. She was 10 lbs at 2 months. I LOVE having a big baby. He is so solid and doesn't seem as fragile.
*Along with being different sizes then Kendall, he also eats a ton more. He eats about 5 oz every 3 hours and 7-8 oz before bed. This adds up to about 32 oz a day. Kendall ate 24 oz a day. Crazy how different they are.
*Jaxon has been sleeping through the night for the last couple weeks, August 11th, Daddy's birthday to be exact! Totally blissful if you ask me, it's amazing how much energy you have after getting a full night of sleep!
*He is starting to use his exersaucer and still loves his bouncy seat and whacking at his toys. He also likes to hang out on his back on the floor and sit in his Bumbo seat. However, he HATES the swing. Neither of my kiddos were swing babies I guess.
*I have almost officially given up on the pacifier. Remind me at a year and a half how wonderful it is not to have to wean him off of it. He just really won't take it. He has really started to suck on his fingers and I wonder if he will find his thumb soon?
*He went through a rough few weeks of fussiness but is now getting better. After some feeding changes and addition of Zantac for heartburn we are seeing improvement. It could be just that he is getting older too I guess. Either way I LOVE the cooing and smiling now.
*He LOVES to be walked around and "jostled." I live by the "5 S's" from Happiest Baby on the Block book. Jaxon is a perfect example of these 5 S's working.
*Kendall is the BEST big sister I could ask for. She loves him so much and is such a great help. Today I laid Jaxon down in the bassinet in our room for a nap and started to hang up some uppercase living above our bed. Kendall came in to watch as usual and Jaxon started crying. In hopes he would put himself back to sleep, I kept working on my uppercase expression. Well, his crying got worse. As I was ready to get off the bed to grab him, Kendall walked over to him and started rocking the bassinet. She kept whispering "It's ok Jaxon," and "Shushed" him until he fell asleep! I was so proud of her I just about started crying! She always tries to make him happy and play with him. Honestly the biggest problem we have with her is that she talks too much and too loud! HA! The other day in the car during one of Kendall's marathon talking sessions (a multiple occurrence on a daily basis in our house), I asked her in an exasperated voice, "Kendall, do you EVER stop talking?" To which she replied, "Ummmm, I don't think so..." Too funny!
