Three years ago today, about 1 hour ago, I gave birth to a 6lb 14oz baby girl named Kendall Rose.  I still remember it like yesterday.  Since I didn't have my blog then, I am telling my birth story now for everyone to see!

We went in at midnight the night before to be induced.  I SLOWLY dilated.  Dr. Bradley broke my water about 7am and I received my epidural around 11am or so?  Ok, so the timeline is fairly foggy in my brain. I remember getting the Nubane (sp?), before the epidural, and all this did was make me SUPER drunk feeling.  So I got the epidural which was the best idea ever.  To someone who is scared of needles, it was totally worth it.

I was totally relaxed after that, but apparently so was Kendall.  She liked it in my belly and didn't really want to come out.  I got to a big SIX centimeters and stayed put.  So around 7pm the doctor on call decided an c-section was the way to go.  After being induced for 19 hours, I agreed.  Neither Rick or I had gotten more then an hour or so of sleep.

The c-section was around 8:30, and went great.  It happened so quickly and at 8:53 pm Kendall Rose was born.  We didn't name her until we met her.  We had three names narrowed down: 1)Kendall 2)Katelynn and 3)Paige.  She just looked like a Kendall so that was her name!  Rose was after Rick's grandma Rose.

Kendall was healthy and changed Rick and I's life more then we could have imagined.  I don't think people really "get" how much your life changes after having a child.  The rewards are amazing of being a parent and worth everything, but man is life different!

Ok, so Kendall turned 3 today and I am going to talk a little about my little girl.

Size: I know you don't care how much she weighs or her height, what am I saying, you probably don't care every time I talk about Jaxon's, but you get it anyway!  Kendall is short and little, 25% for height and 45% for weight.  She is only 36 inches tall!

Sleep: Kendall LOVES her sleep, which makes for happy parents.  This has been something we have always been blessed with Kendall.  She goes to bed without a fuss and has never come out of her room after bedtime.  She still sleeps about 11 hours at night and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

Development: Talks, talks, talks!  She likes to sing songs, color pictures, read books, and is working writing numbers and letters. She has a great memory and loves to repeat conversations.  It's funny, because I "replay" conversations in my head all the time, but Kendall repeats them out loud.  She is very scared of new situations and people.  She has to warm up on her own terms and do things also on her own.  I think she will benefit from preschool next year, especially the socialization part.

Her are some pics from her Snow White party.  We had the party yesterday and went to the hotel my family stayed at today so Kendall could swim.  It was Jaxon's first time swimming and I think he liked it a lot!

The party was amazing and Kendall was blessed with many friends and family to share it with.

Who needs party hats anyway

At least one person liked the cake pops! :)
