Halloween is sort of a big deal in our house. The Mr. is way too obsessed with Halloween if you ask me. But, he plays along nicely with Christmas and my extreme love for that holiday, so I try to be supportive with his. A couple years ago we wanted Kendall to be able to do something fun around Halloween. So we let her invite over a few friends, had them wear their costumes, played a few games, ate some nummy food and called it a Halloween party. Well, she had so much fun we let her do it the next year too, but with a couple more friends. This year we did it again, but let Kendall invite 8 friends over for the party this year! Of course she has friends of the family, daycare friends and school friends.
Fortunately Sadly, 2 of the kiddos couldn't come, but that still left 8 kiddos including Kendall and Jaxon to entertain for 2
long hours.
Kendall's request this year was tacos in a bag which was fairly easy and not too messy to pull off. We decorated masks and glasses, but what the kids really wanted to do was break open the pinata. This is something we have had all 3 years and the kids have a blast. This year we must have bought a super strong pinata, because the kids didn't even make a dent with the baseball bat. So Rick busted out a golf club and hit it. Well that worked! The kids loved scurrying for all the candy and each walked away with a bag full.
All the kids wanted to play outside very badly. So they took full advantage of the playhouse and swing set and played until they were too cold. The parents came and picked up the tired kiddos and the party was done for another year. Whew! It's always such a fun/exhausting party, but totally worth the pure happiness on our daughter's face each year.
