1 year checkup, minus the shots. Well, postponed at least. Kendall has been getting over a bout of the stomach flu, so Dr. M thought we should hold the shots. Probably more for our benefit then Kendall's. And yes, you are reading that correctly, Kendall was sick AGAIN. Seriously we got ONE week of no sickness. She was sick for 3 weeks and then took a one week break followed by the stomach flu. She threw up off an on for 4 days and now it looks to be gone. We have had one heck of a month.
Anyways, back to the appointment. Kendall weighs a whopping 18lbs. 12oz. (20th percentile). And...if you are keeping track, she has only gained 2 oz since her 9 month well baby check. She is also 28 1/2 inches (25th percentile). So she has grown 1.25 inches since her 9 month appointment. Huh...I guess she is at a stand still for growing?? Well, she has been sick for the past month and not really eating so we will cut her a break, but now that she is healthly (knock on wood) we are going to fatten her up! With what, you ask? Well, birthday cake of course!!! I made her a "giant cupcake" for her to eat! I will post pics after tomorrow's festivities. We are doing her actual party next weekend, so that should be a good time.
Everything else was good with Kendall's visit. She covered all the milestones and her ears are great. I can't believe we made it 1 year without any ear infections! Not that she hasn't had everything else possible. Dr. M said we can just come in anytime next week to get the shots.
We started a new daycare and I think this one is a match! Everything is going well and Kendall really likes it there. It has lots of playmates for her and there is always something going on. I am sending cupcakes with to daycare tomorrow for Kendall's birthday, yes, I am THAT Mom!!
I am so excited for Kendall's birthday tomorrow, I can't believe Rick and I will be parents of a ONE YEAR OLD!
