Oh it's good to be home for awhile. I love traveling and visiting with family and friends, but there is something to be said about staying home and relaxing. I will do a quick recap of the last couple weekends:
Last weekend we drove up to Grand Forks for my friend Laura's wedding. It was beautiful, she was beautiful and it was so much fun to see some old friends. We have all scattered so much since college that it is great to catch up and laugh about our memories together.
This past weekend we drove all the way to Minneapolis. I say "all the way" because it felt like we just finished driving from the weekend before! Kendall did great all weekend in the car considering we spent A LOT of time in there throughout the weekend. It seemed like everywhere we went it was at least a 25 minute drive. This ol' North Dakota gal is used to a 10 minute drive max! Ha!
Rick's brother, Ryan, and his wife, Tara, both graduated from the University of Minnesota. Ryan graduated from medical school and Tara graduated with her master's degree. We are so proud of both of them. Kendall made it through one of the graduations (not bad considering she can't sit still for any amount of time). During Tara's graduation ceremony we went back to the house so Kendall could nap. We were supposed to go to the Twins game that night but mother nature had other plans. It rained ALL day and was very cold out. So they postponed the game until the next day. Thank goodness they did this. We wouldn't have been able to enjoy the game with that type of weather. So on Saturday evening we ventured to Target field for the Twins game. It was so much fun! We bundled up so we weren't cold and the Twins pulled out a win for us! Up until a few years ago I cared very little for baseball. However, lately I have been getting into baseball with my die hard husband who loves the Cubs. So I have trying to follow them more and have found myself really enjoying baseball. Well, baseball games are even more fun when you can watch them live :)
Kendall was pretty shy the entire weekend. She has always been a "slow warmer" but it was pretty funny having a 16 month old attached to you most of the weekend. I am exaggerating, but she was pretty shy toward strangers until she became comfortable. She has been talking up a storm, has a new "duck face," and can follow directions really well now. She comprehends so much more now, it is amazing. I can't believe how much she learns every day.
We are looking at more homes this week and hope to find the "house of our dreams." We are still planning to list our home sometime around the 1st of June. Wish us luck that it sells quickly!
