Ok, it kind of rhymes :) Our little one isn't so little anymore. She was 18 months on the 8th and has a toddler personality. She is our little imitator, trying to do everything we do. She loves to do things for us; throw things away, shut and open doors, put things in places, discipline our dogs for us... She really does take direction very well. She also has that great toddler personality of being defiant, throwing her mini temper tantrums, hitting not to cause harm but just to "hit", telling everyone that every toy is "mine." With all those bad things said, she is such a funny, cheesy, energetic little girl :) She absolutely loves to be outside; at a park, in our backyard, at a pool, whatever. She is still pretty shy and really needs to warm up to strangers before letting them hold her. She is currently going through a whiny/needy phase, but I strongly believe this is at least somewhat due to her incoming molar. She will now have 6 teeth on top with 2 molars and only her front 2 teeth on bottom! She still looks like a 6 month old when you look at her teeth. Her teeth move through super slow and don't break through for several weeks once you feel the bump. This makes for a whiny/somewhat cranky baby during at least part of the long teething process.
We had her 18 month checkup, complete with shots, boo! However, we were told she doesn't get shots now until after preschool/before kindergarten, woo hoo! She checked in at 23 pounds (30%) and 31 inches (30%). She is healthy other then a recent UTI. Due to this, she will have to undergo some additional tests to ensure it's not something more serious. We are now down to one nap per day, however, it's usually a 2-3 hour nap and she still sleeps about 11 hours per night.
She is slowly becoming a better eater. I think we realized she just isn't a girl that eats much and that's ok. As long as she gets her fruits, veggies, and some meat in each day we are good.
That about completes my update. I try really hard not to make the posts solely about her, but today we made an exception!
