I am getting old

Feeling quite old right now. I had my 10 year reunion this past weekend and can't believe how old we have all become! It was so much fun catching up with old classmates and seeing their little ones at the picnic. There was a great turnout and a lot of good times were had by all.

Just before the reunion I was in New Orleans for the week. I went for work and had an awesome time. It was a great conference, in which I learned a lot, and we definitely had a lot of New Orleans experiences at night. We stayed right in the French Quarter and walked up and down Bourbon street every night. New Orleans DEFINITELY was not what I thought it would be. It was a great time, but I can't say I would rush to bring my family back there.

Kendall stayed with my parents for the week and it was great for Kendall and my mom to bond. Kendall was so obsessed with my mom that when she saw me for the first time she wasn't overly excited to see me, then when my mom left to get the car she kept looking around and saying "grandma, grandma, grandma." It was pretty funny. This was fairly short lived because starting the next day Kendall was overly afraid that I would leave her again! She was ATTACHED to my hip and wouldn't let many people hold her or even play with her. I am sure she will snap out of it in a few days once she gets back into her routine of daycare, etc. My mom said she was wonderful the whole week so that makes me very happy. You always want your children to be well behaved at other's homes, you know?

Speaking of Kendall, her vocabulary has EXPLODED these last couple weeks. She says a ton of words now and is starting to piece words together. Her favorite phrase by far is "No Pacey, get down!" Ha ha, it's pretty funny to see her discipline the dogs. She also loves to call Rick by his given name, Rick, not Dad or Daddy. This is highly entertaining and uses Dad and Rick about 50/50. I have been trying not to laugh when she does this but I can't help but smile. I have now been trying to call Rick by Dad most of the time so she gets the hint. She has also started saying the dreaded swear words, we have successfully heard her say the S**t word and "oh dang it." Rick and I are now using strictly Disney language at home :)

Ok, off to bed. I am glad to be back in the Hochhalter routine at home. Oh by the way, our house hasn't sold yet, we have had some offers but nothing we can't refuse so it's still for sale.
