I have a two year old. That is just weird to say. Gone are the days of Kendall cuddling in my arms (for the most part), gone are the days of silence, gone are the baby toys in the house. Kendall is a rambunctious, hyper, smiley, talkative two year old. We had her 2 year appointment a couple weeks ago and Dr. Murphy still says she is perfect :) Don't worry, I am fully aware she says that of all children. She is healthy. Short, but healthy. She hit an all time low in the percentile charts for height. Man, she is a shrimp. She is a whopping 32 inches tall (15%), and has only grown 1 measly inch in the past 6 months. She is 25lbs 9oz (45%) and is pretty average in that area. We are heading to Orlando in a few months and in order for Kendall to get on some of the kiddie rides she needs to be 35 inches. Hmmmm, I don't think it's going to happen. Maybe she will hit a growth spurt??
Kendall talks nonstop, including when it is bedtime. She has lengthy conversations with her tigger, pooh, and monkey. Sometimes we have to take these items OUT of her bed in order for her to fall asleep. She just has too much energy most nights to fall asleep right away. She sits in her bed for about a half hour and moans, talks, laughs, sings, everything but sleep. I guess it is ok though, at least she is staying in her big girl bed and not wandering around when she is trying to fall asleep.
She is still our super shy girl around new people and is VERY shy around male strangers. It seems like she can warm up to a female twice as fast as a male. She also needs some time to warm up to new situations or activities. Once Kendall is comfortable she is a dare devil hyper girl, but she has to feel comfortable first.
She is also our little helper. She LOVES to clean, rubber gloves and all, and her all time favorite is to unload the dishwasher. She will even dry the dishes first if they are still wet. She is very meticulous and is sure to take each dish out one at a time, dry it, and hand it to me. Keep in mind that this at least triples the time it takes to unload one dishwasher. I suppose we could unload it when she is asleep, but she really loves it soo much that I hate to take away that enjoyment!
Well, I don't know what else to update you on. She still doesn't eat much, ugh, and would live on fruit and spaghetti if we let her. She is still sometimes a sassy girl, and we are working on this at home. She loves to whine when she wants something vs. just using her words, but talks fine after I tell her to stop whining and tell me what she wants. I know, I know, she IS a toddler but that doesn't mean we can't help her improve.
The birthday party was great. We had friends and family there and Kendall was the fish who didn't want to get out of the water. She was so blessed and received a number of new toys and games, all of which keep her very entertained at home. Right now she is making me some coffee in her kitchen. Ha!
