Wow, as a Hochhalter household, we have been one busy family. What's been taking up the majority of our (Rick's) time is the basement. We have begun the process of finishing it and *hope* to be finished by June. Cross your fingers everyone. Rick's father has been great and has been helping Rick frame the basement and now they are just about finished. Which is perfect timing for my parents to come in a couple weeks to do the electrical.
We have also begun the VERY SLOW task of potty training. Honestly, we hadn't pushed it much and we were ok with that. Well, one weekend Kendall was a rock star and went on it 5 or 6 times one day and almost as many the next. So we figured she was ready to at least start trying. We have had good days and bad days and this definitely won't be an overnight task. If she is semi out of diapers by the time Baby #2 comes I will be happy. As we are speaking right now Kendall told me she doesn't want to go to the potty because she has already gone in her pull up. See what I mean by a slow task?
We went to the annual St. Mary's Carnival last night and had a great time. Kendall could participate in a lot of the games, and for spending $5 on tickets, she came home with a slug of things. Including a fish! Haha, not a real one, but a stuffed flounder. Rick wouldn't even let her try to win a goldfish. I supposed he realized it would be living in the porcelain throne by the end of the week! Rick likes to tell me it isn't AS cool as when he was a kiddo, but we all enjoyed it as a family. I love events and activities like this even more now that I have children.
Some pics of Kendall. The one by the door in her boots is my fave. I let Maggie out on the leash since we don't have a fence yet (add it to our list) and she always wraps herself around under the deck. Right after I let Maggie out, Kendall looked outside and said about 18 times, "Maggie's stuck!" I tried to convince her otherwise but you know how it is with a toddler. So she ran over to the closet and grabbed her boots, put them on, and ran back to the door to "save" Maggie. With no coat or pants I might add :) When I took this pic Kendall was saying, "I go get Maggie, ok? Ok? Ok? Ok?" Until Maggie was inside she was fully convinced that she needed her help. Kendall is such a little helper.
