gak and candy

Kendall hosted her 2nd annual Halloween Party, last night.  She was invited 4 friends and had 2 full hours of craziness fun.  We started out the night with hot dog "mummys" and Halloween mac 'n cheese.  They were super cute but I think the kids were `weirded out that there were weird crescent rolls instead of buns.  After dinner we made gak. This was by far the biggest hit of the night.  They all had fun making ooey gooey gak.  This is a super fun and easy thing to do with little ones.  In addition to it being a great sensory opportunity, it is also fun imaginative play.  It contains glue and borax.  You would think it would be sticky with the glue, but when mixed with the borax it turns amazing. Way better then play-doh that crumbles everywhere.  Here is a link to the recipe.

After gak we made candy necklaces and played outside until parents came. It went really fast and Kendall loved having her friends over. Until next year...
