family reunion 2013

This year was the first we went to a Schmaltz family reunion.  Schmaltz is Rick's Mom's side.  They have a VERY large family and they go all out for their family reunions!  It's actually a three day affair, but we only attended the Saturday festivities.  One of the family members has a BEAUTIFUL home in Shakopee on a lake and was nice enough to open up her house for the weekend!  Sadly I don't really have any pictures of the reunion, but we had a good time meeting many many family members that came as far as Texas, Arizona and California.  Kendall, Jaxon and Rick took part in a little swimming and Kendall had the best time running around with her newly met cousins.

We actually were in the area since Wednesday, late night, so we stayed busy with other activities.  We went to Nickelodeon Universe which the kids LOVED.  Neither of them are scared of any rides, and I am fairly certain Mom was more iffy about the log chute then EITHER child was!  We also went to a Twins game which is always a good time.  Jaxon was pretty intrigued for a lot of the game and liked to watch all the players.  I also must add that Jaxon is obsessed with his Twins jersey and would wear it every single day if we let him.  Rick now insists that I find him a Cubs one...
Kendall wasn't really into the game, but with the help of an iPod, sat very still and quiet the entire time.  The Twins lost, boo, and Rick and I are now convinced that we are bad luck for the team.  The last SEVERAL games we have attended, the Twins have lost.

The weekend went fast and there were so many things we would have liked to have done.  Next year!

Kendall starts back up at Merry Go Round Preschool in a couple weeks.  She is super pumped and really missed not going this summer.  She will go three half days this year (as opposed to 2 last year).  She recently spent a week with my parents up in Grand Forks.  They kept her super busy and she even went to Vacation Bible School for the week!  Here at St. Mary's you have to be in kindergarten, but at Sacred Heart in East Grand Forks you only need to be 4 years old.  She had a good time and still talks about the things she did and learned.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Kendall spent some time at Amaya's playing with LOTS of toys!

They also spent a lot of time at the park

Such a cute picture...if Jaxon wasn't wearing his jammies!

Ready for the game!

Great Grandpa Al and two of his great granddaughters (Kendall on left).  We also celebrated his 85th birthday at the reunion!
