One lucky gal

Kendall in the "pit" at gymnastics

What?! I don't wanna take a nap!

RAWR! Our own personal lion!

I had quite the weekend! I kept saying that I wasn't sure if Rick was really lucky or really unlucky that my birthday and Mother's day fell within one weekend. Well, lucky or unlucky, he sure did surprise me! I was one spoiled girl and am so unbelievably blessed with great friends and family.

I woke up yesterday to the doorbell ringing. Well, I waddled over to the door and my in-laws were at the door singing "happy birthday!" Not only this, but they had with them a breakfast pizza from Happy Joes, a cinnamon roll, a carmel coffee, and a diet coke! Mmmm, delicious breakfast. FYI: I did share the cinnamon roll with Kendall, I am not that mean! Kendall also gave me a present, she slept in until 8:45. I actually had to wake her up. See the thing is, she typically sleeps in for Rick...and not for me! So this was nice. This morning, I also woke her up at 8:45. We are on a roll!

Anyway, when I got out of my groggy, just woken up phase, I noticed a box for me on the kitchen island. Low and behold was a new camera! Woohoo! I have been wanting a DSLR FOREVER but they are just soo much more expensive then a point and shoot digital, so I have never pursued it. Well, Rick must have been feeling extra loving this year because he not only got me one, but did research first to make sure we got one that we would both like. I am still learning it, and am honestly still on the "auto" mode, but hope to be in the manual settings in no time. I need to buy a book, or take a class, or SOMETHING, to learn everything. It is crazy though how much better of shots it takes, I LOVE it!

We went out to eat and to a movie last night and it was great just to have a date night. All in all, it was a wonderful birthday and the start to an equally wonderful year!

Above are some new shots in the VERY limited time I have had my new camera.
